Incorporated in June 2018, Tawd Valley Developments Ltd is the wholly owned development company of West Lancashire Borough Council.
Tawd Valley Developments first started development works in Sept 2020 at our Eskbank site. We completed our Phase 1 of sites in 2022 with 81 new homes handed over to WLBC and utilising our dedicated partner network and experience in the sector, brought the whole phase of works in £330,000 under budget. A significant saving and funds that could be used to further care for the Council’s residents in West Lancashire.
In 2022 we also broke ground on our largest project to date at Fairlie. This mixed house type site is Tawd Valley Developments and the Council’s first foray into affordable home ownership, with 9 homes (2 & 3 Bedroom) being made available on an affordable rent to buy tenure. These proved very popular with over 100 applicants in the first weekend of availability. It is Tawd Valley Developments’ intention to bring more of these to market in our next phase of delivery alongside Shared Ownership and some Open Market Sales. As well as this, Fairlie has also brought forward 4 Future Standard homes. These are ‘green’ homes utilising MMC, triple ply lining, triple glazed windows and underfloor heating.
Tawd Valley Developments are also assisting the Council with many other projects, including the strategic planning of the Town Centre Master Plan in Skelmersdale and commercial investments such as the Industrial Unit Scheme for 45 business units at Junction 4 of the M58. Helping to realise the Council’s goals of Job Creation, Economic Development and Net Carbon Zero.
We have a strong pipeline of works which we continue to bring forward for Council consideration and hope to be benefiting the communities in our local region for many years to come.
