Phase 1 of the improvement works is now complete with new gabion-style benches installed, two underpasses cleaned and re-painted with fresh artwork, new bird boxes and hedgehog houses as well as a clean-up and new graffiti to the skate park. The work was undertaken by students from West Lancashire College via a community-led collaboration between VIY, TVD, WLBC, Uthink Creative, Whitfield & Brown, John McCall Architects and Ridge. Phase 2 of the project is due to start in early 2025 which will include tree and wildflower planting and improvements to the MUGA. Watch this space for further updates!
Following completion of the new houses at Fairburn, Tawd Valley Developments and all of the businesses involved engaged with residents about improving the Park area at Fairhaven Playground. Please get in touch if you wish to volunteer on the project which will commence in September 2024.
